Augustin Stable’s Informed Decision and Forever Together breezed at Keeneland Oct. 25 as the two gray champions trained by Jonathan Sheppard continued to prepare for the Breeders’ Cup World Championships at Churchill Downs.

Informed Decision, who was ridden by current leading Keeneland jockey Julien Leparoux, worked five furlongs on the main Polytrack surface in a bullet time of :59 2/5 in her first breeze since finishing third in the Thoroughbred Club of America (gr. II) here on Oct. 9.

"Julien seemed to be happy with her," Sheppard said. "I told him just to go off nice and easy but to make sure she finished up well. She finished strongly."

Informed Decision, a 5-year-old daughter of Monarchos  , will defend her title in the Sentient Jet Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Sprint (gr. I), which she won last year when the race was run over the all-weather surface at Santa Anita. At Churchill, Informed Decision captured last year’s Humana Distaff (gr. I) and finished third in the same race this year.

Forever Together, a 6-year-old mare by Belong to Me, is to make her third consecutive start in the Emirates Airline Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf (gr. IT). She won the race in 2008 and was third last year. On Oct. 2, Forever Together finished sixth in her most recent race, the Flower Bowl (gr. IT) at Belmont, and she arrived at Keeneland last week.

Forever Together, ridden by assistant trainer Barry Wiseman, worked in company with stablemate Fantasia, with Leparoux aboard. Fantasia broke off four to five lengths in front of Forever Together, who made up ground on Fantasia through the stretch but was not asked to catch her. Clockers timed Forever Together in :59 3/5 for five furlongs and Fantasia in a minute flat.

"I was very happy," Sheppard said. "They were supposed to be working at the same time, but one behind the other. Sometimes they finish together, but that’s not what we planned. Actually, Forever Together seemed to be going so strongly she kinda’ eased up a little bit closer to the other horse in midstretch."

Sheppard said Informed Decision would ship to Churchill in the next few days, gallop over the main track several mornings and work there on Monday, Nov. 1. That could also could be a work day for Forever Together on the Churchill turf course. Fantasia, who is not being pointed toward the Breeders’ Cup, is nominated to the Cardinal (gr. IIIT) at Churchill on Nov. 7.

Augustin is the current leading owner during the Keeneland fall meeting with five wins. One of those wins came in last Friday’s Pin Oak Valley View (gr. III) with homebred Fugitive Angel. Sheppard said the daughter of Alphabet Soup might make her next start at Churchill on Nov. 20 in the Mrs. Revere (gr. IIT) against 3-year-old fillies on turf.
