Closing Argument.

Closing Argument  , a graded stakes winner and highly ranked on the second-crop sire's list, will stand in 2011 at Ro Parra’s Millennium Farms near Lexington. The 8-year-old son of Successful Appeal   was purchased by Millennium and Bill Heiligbrodt in August. Closing Argument stood in 2010 at John Sikura’s Hill ‘n’ Dale Farms near Lexington for a $5,000 fee. His 2011 fee will be announced at a later date.

Closing Argument, out of the Mr. Greeley mare Mrs. Greeley, ranks sixth on the 2010 second-crop sire list by progeny earnings. This year, his runners have earned $1.9 million and include stakes winners My Irish Girland Foreign Argument. Closing Argument’s career progeny earnings are $2.7 million.

“After having a chance to assess Closing Argument, his current progeny performance and his significant amount of upside, we felt that standing him in Kentucky was best for the horse and for the partnership,”  Parra said.

Closing Argument scored his big win in the 2005 Holy Bull Stakes (gr. III). He ran second in that year’s Kentucky Derby (gr. I), ahead of subsequent champion Afleet Alex  .
