Attorneys for Stonewall Farm owner Audrey Haisfield have filed papers with federal bankruptcy court in Florida seeking to place the farm near Midway, Ky., on the market for $8.4 million.
The 232-acre farm established by Haisfield and her husband, Richard, would be listed with realtor Bill Justice if the request is approved by the court. The Haisfields, who along with various operation entities have had several lawsuits filed against them that have resulted in sizeable judgments, relocated their operations to Ocala, Fla., earlier this year.
If approved, the farm would be on the market with Justice from Sept. 7-Dec. 6, although the listing period could be extended, according to the court documents.
Justice is the listing agent for the Stonewall broodmare division, which was placed on the market after horses were removed from the property near the main farm.
Harleysville National Bank, which sued the Haisfields and related Stonewall entities, had the farm appraised in June 2009 and placed its value at $8.9 million. Stone Wall Acquisition, an entity related to a successor to Harleysville National Bank, was awarded a $16 million judgment against Haisfield.
