Warbling, whose last two starts came in grade I sprints, takes a bit of a breather in the Honorable Miss Handicap (gr. II) at Saratoga Aug. 8. The six-furlong race, due to go off at 4:55 EDT, has attracted four other fillies and mares. All five are stakes winners this year.

Warbling, one of two fillies in the race who likely will vie for the lead, looked like a sure winner in the Princess Rooney (gr. I) at Calder Casino and Race Course July 10 with a 3 1/2-length lead at the eighth pole before weakening and eventually finishing two lengths in the back of winner Jessica Is Back. Prior to the Princess Rooney, the daughter of Unbridled's Song finished fifth after losing the lead in the seven-furlong Humana Distaff (gr. I) at Churchill Downs on Derby Day.

Warbling, trained by Eddie Kenneally, has run five times this year, all in stakes. She boasts a triumph three races back in the Inside Information (gr. II) at Gulfstream Park in March. Julien Laparoux rides for the second straight time.

Hour Glass, sixth in the Princess Rooney, is one of two in the field with two stakes victories this year. The daughter of Petionville   captured the Vagrancy (gr. II) at Belmont Park in late May and the Wheel Turns in Aqueduct in March. She enters the Honorable Miss with a four-furlong workout of :47, the fifth-best of the 69 workouts Aug. 1 at the Spa. Regular rider David Cohen rides.

One Smokin’ Lady, who figures to contest the early lead with Warbling, won the Day Lilly July 16 at Penn National in front-running fashion in her last outing.  She earlier took the Spring Fever at Oaklawn Park in the winter. Trained by Eric Reid Jr., the Smoke Glacken filly will get the return services of jockey Rosie Napravnik.

Secret Gypsy also enters the Honorable Miss off a triumph. The Sea of Secrets mare, trained by Ronny Werner, won the Saylorville by 4 3/4 lengths at Prairie Meadows in late June. She won a grade II stakes last year, taking the Distaff (gr. II) in New York. Jamie Theriot rides again.

Pretty Prolific hasn’t run since finishing second in the Humana Distaff. The Kenny McPeek trainee has been out three other times this year and sports a victory in the Sugar Swirl Stakes (gr. III) at Oaklawn in January. The daughter of Lion Heart later finished fourth in two other graded stakes. She is trained by Ken McPeek and will get a return ride by Edgar Prado, who was on her in the Sugar Swirl.
