TOBA Schedules Two Events in Saratoga

The Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association conduct a pedigree and conformation clinic on Monday, Aug. 2 and a Thoroughbred ownership seminar on Thursday, Aug. 5 in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. Both events are sponsored by Blood-Horse Publications.

The pedigree and conformation clinic will feature conformation presentations and live evaluations as well as pedigree discussions that will include nicking, dosage, outcrossing and inbreeding. Clinic speakers include Mark Taylor, Robert Fierro, Tim Leith, Craig Bandoroff, Barry Irwin, Marette Farrell and Dr. Jeff Berk. The clinic will begin at 8 a.m. (EDT) at the Fasig-Tipton sales pavilion. The registration fee for the clinic is $125 for TOBA members and $175 for non-members and includes all support materials, breakfast and lunch.

The Thoroughbred ownership seminar will feature discussions on industry business issues, options for acquiring horses including partnerships, auctions and claiming as well as a discussion about veterinary topics. Speakers include Jeff Cannizzo, John Hess, Josh Cooper, Mike McMahon, Amy Bondon, Linda Rice, Bill Casner, trainer Eoin Harty and Dr. Jeff Berk. The seminar will begin at 8 a.m. (EDT) at Saratoga Race Course and will include breakfast, lunch and an afternoon of racing. The registration fee for the New Owner Seminar is $75 for TOBA members and $100 for non-members and includes all support materials, admission to the track and meals.

TOBA’s next educational event is a pedigree and conformation clinic, Oct. 18-19 in Lexington, Ky. The seminar will include farm tours of Dixiana and Spendthrift Farms, a pedigree workshop and conformation evaluations. For a complete list of TOBA seminars and clinics visit www.toba.org.
