The Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co. August yearling sale will begin Aug. 24, a day later than previously scheduled. The opening session, which is for select horses, will start at 1:00 p.m. (EDT) instead of the customary 10:30 a.m.
“We are making these changes for the convenience of our buyers,” said OBS general manager and director of sales Tom Ventura. “The extra day will give horsemen more time for travel after the weekend stakes races and the later starting time will permit more time for pre-sale inspection.”
Two hundred horses have been cataloged for the select session, and 701 are scheduled to be offered during the two open sessions, which will take place Aug. 25 and 26. Selling will begin each day at 10:30 a.m.
Veteran stallions with offspring in the auction include Unbridled's Song,Tiznow , Indian Charlie, Tapit , Empire Maker, Malibu Moon , and Candy Ride . Sires who will be represented by members of their first crop include Street Sense , Hard Spun , and Any Given Saturday .
