Three Chimneys Farm announced Jan. 22 that Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands and Preakness Stakes (both gr. I) winner Big Brown   was represented by his first foal, a filly out of the unraced Seeking the Gold mare Impressive Attire. The filly, who is boarded at Swifty Farms near Seymour, Ind., was born Jan. 12.

Impressive Attire is out of the multiple grade I-winning millionaire mare Sharp Cat. By Storm Cat, Sharp Cat captured 14 stakes races, 12 of which were graded, including the grade I Hollywood Starlet, Matron, Santa Anita Oaks, Las Virgenes, Acorn, Beldame, and Ruffian. Impressive Attire, who was bred in Kentucky by Darley, is also from the family of grade I-winning millionaire Royal Anthem (by Theatrical).

The Big Brown filly is Impressive Attire’s first foal.

Three Chimneys will be creating a photo gallery for Big Brown’s 2010 foals and will be posting photos of his 2010 foals as they arrive. The gallery will be located on his webpage, www.threechimneys.com/BigBrown and photos of this, his first career foal, will be posted in the coming days.

Big Brown, a 5-year-old son of Boundary, retired from racing with a record of seven wins from eight starts and earnings of $3,614,500. Named 2008 champion 3-year-old male, Big Brown’s 2010 stud fee at Robert N. Clay's Three Chimneys near Midway, Ky., is $55,000 stands and nurses.
