Grade I winner Buddha has been sold to a syndicate to stand at Nestor Otero’s Haras Dilu in Argentina. Otero is a member of the syndicate.
Eleven-year-old Buddha first stood at John Sikura’s Hill ‘n’ Dale Farms near Lexington and then at Dr. William J. Solomon’s Pin Oak Lane Farm near New Freedom, Pa. He has sired a dozen stakes horses and the earners of $6.1 million.
Buddha (Unbridled's Song--Cahooters, by Storm Cat) won all three races as a 3-year-old of 2002 for Gary and Mary West Stables. His big win came in that year’s Wood Memorial Stakes (gr. I).
According to bloodstock agent Luis Bouza, who brokered the deal, Buddha should cover between 60 and 80 mares at Dilu in 2010. The farm is located about 80 miles from Buenos Aires.
