Lucky J.H., a graded stakes winner of 8 of 20 starts, with earnings of $632,065, has been retired to the place of his birth, his owner/breeder John Harris’s Harris Farm near Coalinga, Calif.

Now 7, the son of Cee's Tizzy won every year he raced from ages 2 to 6, including stakes victories in the 2006 Ack Ack Handicap (gr. III) and Tiznow Stakes at Hollywood Park, and the 2008 Sensational Star and Impressive Luck Handicaps at Santa Anita Park.

“I hate to have to stop on him now as he had a big year ahead in 2009, but due to a training injury, we have sent him to the farm to embark on a new stallion career,” said Harris. “I am very excited about his future as a stallion. He could run well on any track surface both short and long.

“Lucky J.H.’s sire Cee’s Tizzy is off to a fabulous start as a sire of sires with Tiznow   is doing sensationally, as evidenced by his son, Well Armed’s dazzling 14-length win in the Dubai World Cup (UAE-I).  Lucky J.H. has a fabulous temperament combined with a very striking physical appearance and a wonderful pedigree.”

“He'll be a nice addition to our stallion roster and brings another solid son of Cee's Tizzy into the breeding shed,” said Harris Farm horse division manager Dave McGlothlin. “It's a difficult year and time of year to start a stallion in the breeding shed, so we will be very aggressive in booking mares and will offer free matings to those with pedigrees of interest.”

We plan to breed many of our best mares to him and also have already had several calls from friends and clients wanting to breed to him.”

Lucky J.H. will stand at private fee for the rest of 2009.
