Go Go Earns Third Straight Win in A Gleam 'Cap

Thomas and Thomas Racing's Go Go sat just off the early pace and inched away in the stretch to win the $200,000 A Gleam Handicap (gr. II) on Sunday at Hollywood Park. Sent off as the 13-10 favorite, Go Go returned $4.60, $2.80, and $2.20 and led a $1 exacta -- completed by Kitty On the Track -- worth $10.30.

Go Go completed the seven furlongs in 1:22.19 on a fast track under jockey Eddie Delahoussaye.

"That other horse was digging in," Delahoussaye said. "I was just hoping my horse had enough because she made the lead sooner than I would have wanted. But she did it so easy, I just let her go. She doesn't like the whip so I didn't really get after her, but she had enough left."

The Warren Stute-trained 4-year-old filly earned $120,000 for her eighth win in 14 career starts, pushing her past the $500,000 mark for career earnings. This year, she has won five of six starts, including the Las Flores (gr. III), Las Cienegas (gr. IIIT), and Desert Stormer (gr. III) Handicaps.

Kitty On the Track finished three lengths ahead of Nany's Sweep. Kalookan Queen and Image of Glory completed the order of finish.

Go Go (Falstaff--Key Mist, by Plugged Nickle) was bred in California by Chris Ray. (Chart, Equibase)
