Ariege, winner of this year’s Santa Anita Oaks (gr. I), will be offered at the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky November select mixed sale. She will be consigned by Hidden Brook and will be Hip No. 157A in the auction, which will be held Nov. 2 in Central Kentucky.
A 3-year-old daughter of Doneraile Court, Ariege has captured four of her 10 career races and has earned $487,328. In addition to the Santa Anita Oaks, the dark bay or brown filly was won the Stonerside Beaumont Stakes (gr. II) at Keeneland and the Madame Jumel Stakes on grass at Saratoga this year. In her most recent outing, she finished fifth in the Queen Elizabeth Challenge Cup Stakes (gr. IT) at Keeneland.
Ariege races for IEAH Stables and Pegasus Holding Group Stables. Her dam, Kostroma (by Caerleon), was a champion in Ireland and a grade I winner on turf in North America.
"Ariege is the complete package," said IEAH co-president and chief executive officer Michael Iavarone in a prepared statement. "Not only is she a grade 1 winner, she has consistently performed at the highest level on both coasts. She's handled synthetic tracks, firm and soft turf, and won both sprinting and routing. She's also a beautiful individual and has an excellent pedigree. She will make a wonderful addition to any racing stable or broodmare band."
