Eclipse Press has announced the release of Best of Talkin' Horses, a compilation of the popular online chats with the movers and shakers in the Thoroughbred racing industry featured on BloodHorse.com.
Moderated by Blood-Horse online managing editor Ron Mitchell, Talkin Horses was among the first online chats in the industry when it debuted in 2005, and the weekly feature has since included some of the biggest names among jockeys, trainers, owners, veterinarians, racing officials, and sports writers.
BloodHorse.com attracted more than one million unique visitors in 2007. The questions and answers in the book came directly from the transcripts generated during each chat.
Because of the caliber and diversity of the guests, the material in Best of Talkin' Horses is not only entertaining, but can make an indispensable reference guide.
Readers will learn everything from Carl Nafzger's training philosophies, to what Dr. Larry Bramlage considers his toughest case, to what Jerry Bailey looked forward to eating most after retiring from the saddle. Other personalities included in the book are Bob Baffert, Larry Jones, Todd Pletcher, Garrett Gomez, Edgar Prado, Pat Day, Dr. Dean Richardson, Cot Campbell, Penny Chenery, Bill Nack, Tom Durkin, and Randy Moss.
"When we first launched Talkin' Horses, the idea was to give our readers access to some of racing's leading personalities," Mitchell said. "Its popularity has grown beyond our expectations and the response from both the fans and guests has been amazing. The hardest part about putting this book together was narrowing down which chats to use."
