From Three Chimneys Farm

Margaret Layton, longtime communications director for Three Chimneys Farm, announced Jan. 15 she will be leaving the operation after the May 3 Kentucky Derby.

“I’m going to see what opportunities come my way,” Layton said. “I’m very, very proud of what has been accomplished at Three Chimneys during the 17 years I’ve been privileged to be part of that team, but I’m ready to see what I can do on my own."

“Margaret’s decision was totally unexpected and she will not only be missed, but extremely difficult to replace,” Three Chimneys owner Robert Clay said. “Our stallion brochure has received first-place awards in ad competitions each of the last 10 or 12 years, we’ve developed an industry-wide reputation for our outstanding direct mail pieces, and her relationship with the media has resulted in millions of dollars of positive publicity for our industry, let alone Three Chimneys.

"Her strong problem-solving and organizational abilities will be high on the list of what we’ll be looking for in her replacement. We hope to use Margaret on a consulting basis in the future.”
