International owners Michael Tabor and Derrick Smith have reached an agreement in principle to buy a half-interest in grade I-winning 2-year-old Majestic Warrior from George Steinbrenner's Kinsman Stable. A homebred son of A.P. Indy, Majestic Warrior will continue to race in the Kinsman colors and be trained by Bill Mott. The deal calls for Majestic Warrior to enter stud following his racing career at Ashford Stud near Versailles, Ky. Ashford is a satellite of John Magnier and partners' Coolmore Stud in Ireland.

Majestic Warrior won the Sept. 3 Hopeful Stakes (gr. I) in closing fashion at Saratoga in his last start. He has won both of his races and earned $187,200.

The expected procurement of Majestic Warrior will introduce the valuable A.P. Indy male line to Coolmore once again. The farm stood A. P. Indy's grade I-winning son A P Valentine at Ashford earlier this decade, but he suffered from fertility problems and was relocated.

Majestic Warrior's first two dams, Dream Supreme (by Seeking the Gold), and Spinning Round, are Saratoga grade I winners. Dream Supreme, a Mr. Prospector granddaughter, won both the Test Stakes (gr. I) and Ballerina Handicap (gr. I) at the Spa.

Majestic Warrior carries the potent A.P. Indy/Mr. Prospector cross, also responsible for Horse of the Year Mineshaft  , important sire Pulpit, and last year's champion Bernardini.
