Suave to Stand at Darby Dan Farm

Suave, a grade II winning son of A.P. Indy, will stand at Darby Dan Farm near Lexington in 2007.

The 5-year-old horse ran last weekend in the grade I Woodward Stakes at Saratoga. He finished last of 10 after being forced to steady early in the race won by Premium Tap. In his prior start, Suave set a track record in the Washington Park Handicap (gr. II) at Arlington Park. He ran the 1 3/16 mile in 1:53.53.

Suave was bred in Kentucky by Mace, Samantha, and the late Jan Seigel and races for Mace and Samantha Siegel's Jay Em Ess Stable. He is trained by Paul McGee, who is pointing him toward a repeat start in the Breeders' Cup Classic – Powered by Dodge (gr. I). Last year, Suave finished fifth in the Classic, beaten just three lengths.

No stud fee was announced for Suave, who is out of grade I winner Urbane, by Citidancer.

Suave has won three graded stakes in his 26-start career. He has seven wins, six seconds, two thirds, and earnings of $1,348,423.

Suave won the Saratoga Breeders' Cup Handicap (gr. II) last year and at three captured the Northern Dancer Stakes (gr. III).
