Cartwright Filly Tops at Final OBSC Session

Christmas Package, a filly by Cartwright consigned by agent Eisaman Equine, breezed a quarter in :21 1/5 to post the fastest time at the distance at the fourth and final session of the Under Tack Show for the Ocala Breeders' Sales Company's 2006 Spring Sale of Two-Year-Olds in Training.

The gray/roan filly is out of stakes winner Prized Package, by Zinov. Throughout the session, the 2-year-olds battled a headwind that stiffened as the day progressed.

Two horses worked quarters in :21 2/5. Farewell Joe is a dark bay or brown colt by Pioneering out of Northwest Princess, by Yukon. Consigned by agent M & H Training and Sales, the colt is a half brother to stakes winners Forever Joe and Joeforever. Now is the Time is a filly by Unbridled Time out of Notjustanotherbird, by Proud Birdie. Consigned by agent Southern Chase Farm (Greg and Karen Dodd), the bay filly is a half sister to stakes winner Ring True.

The session's fastest three eighths was posted by McCaskill's Dance, a colt by Dance Master consigned by agent Center Stage Farm (Darcy Scudero). The bay colt is out of McCaskill, by Copelan, a half sister to stakes winner and graded stakes producer Bright Bliss.

Overall, the Under Tack Show's fastest three eighths was by Spartan Queen, a filly by Yonaguska consigned by agent Sescan for Paul D. King. She blazed three eighths in :32 4/5 on Wednesday. The dark bay or brown filly is out of Readout, by Quack, and is a half sister to the dam of stakes winner We'll Sea Ya. The work is the fastest ever recorded at OBS at the distance.

The fastest quarter was posted on Friday by Lake Island, a colt by Songandaprayer   consigned by agent Eisaman Equine, who zipped two furlongs in :20 4/5. The bay colt is out of Island Lake, by Meadowlake, a half sister to stakes placed Tavara.

The Under Tack Show's fastest eighth was turned in on Friday by a filly by Successful Appeal   who worked the distance in :10 flat. Consigned by agent Hartley/De Renzo Thoroughbreds, the bay filly is out of Down South Trickin', by Clever Trick.
