Churchill Downs Promotes Guest Services Team Members

Churchill Downs has announced promotions and new duties for several members of its guest services team.

Heading the list of changes in the department is a new title for Lee Ann Shellman, who has been promoted to senior director of premium seating and membership services. Along with her previous duties that included management of ticketing for the Kentucky Derby presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I) and the Kentucky Oaks (gr. I) and oversight of Turf Club memberships and sale of season boxes, Shellman is assuming new responsibilities in the track's suite services department.

Robin Sewell is moving to the Churchill Downs sales department, where she will serve as sponsorship sales manager. Sewell, who had previously served as group sales manager in guest services, will report to Tricia Amburgey, senior director of sponsorship sales, in her new post.

Others who will assume new duties in guest services include: Jennifer Warren, previously an event manager in group sales, now serves as a group sales manager; Gina Kehagias, formerly a floor captain in group sales, is now a group sales manager; Elizabeth Leis, formerly an event coordinator, is now an event manager; Mandy Wood moves from an event coordinator position to a new post as event manager; Kelly Dunker, who formerly held a group sales support position, has been named as an event manager; Patricia Sheridan, who had served as a group sales floor captain, now serves in a support position in that department.

"The team members who are taking on new duties for our team in 2006 have taken our customer service focus and business change management strategies to heart, and their efforts have helped to move our track and its year-round operations forward," said Tom Schneider, vice president for guest services. "We're very excited to hand these new responsibilities to members of our team who have worked so hard and earned the appreciation of both our patrons and our company."
