Edited HRTV release
HorseRacing TV will give racing fans a headstart in assessing the Breeders' Cup World Thoroughbred Championships when the popular "Pursuit of the Cup" show returns for its third season on Wednesday, Sept. 7 at 8:30 p.m. PT/11:30 p.m. ET.
Hosted by HRTV's duo of Laffit Pincay III and Jeff Siegel, the weekly 30-minute show will air on Wednesdays through October 26, with a re-broadcast each Thursday, beginning at 8:30 a.m. PT/11:30 a.m. ET.
The 22nd renewal of "Racing's Greatest Day" will be contested Oct. 29 at New York's Belmont Park, and encompasses eight races totaling more than $14 million in purses.
"The World Thoroughbred Championships is entrenched as the 'Super Bowl' of Thoroughbred racing, and 'Pursuit of the Cup' is designed to keep fans apprised of all the latest developments," said Amy J. Zimmerman, executive producer of HRTV. "Laffit and Jeff are two of the best in the business at analyzing the previous week's events and downloading their insight to HRTV's viewers."
Both Pincay and Siegel bring unique perspectives to "Pursuit to the Cup." Pincay's Hall of Fame father rode seven Breeders' Cup winners, while Siegel has been part-owner of seven Breeders' Cup starters, including Prized, winner of the 1989 Breeders' Cup Turf.
"Pursuit of the Cup" will include informative features, in-depth interviews with owners and trainers, as well as up-to-date information on the sport's greatest stars.
