Del Mar racing fans will be treated to a new wager when the seaside course opens its 43-day meeting July 20. The "new" wager is the 10-cent Superfecta. The new wager allows for more multiple wagers on the popular bet that requires picking the first four finishers in proper order in a race. Previously, the minimum bet on the Superfecta was $1. Del Mar will offer the Superfecta on all races with at least eight betting interests. The track, which will race every day of the week except Tuesday throughout the summer, will offer the standard win, place, and show wagering on each of its races, as well as the following "exotic," or combination bets: The often-lucrative $2 Pick Six (on the day's final six races), $2 Rolling Double (on all races except the last), $2 Quinella (all races), $2 Parlays, $1 Pick Four (final four races), $1 Rolling Pick Three (starting with the first race and ending with last three), $1 Exactas (all races), $1 Trifecta (all races with at least six betting interests) and the $1 Place Pick All. With some exceptions, Del Mar will present eight-race cards during the week, 10-race cards on Saturday and nine-race cards on Sundays. Among the exceptions will be opening day (nine races), Pacific Classic Day, Aug. 21 (10 races), Labor Day, Sept. 5 (10 races) and closing day, Sept. 7 (10 races).
