Rockport Harbor, Fantasy Winner at Keeneland

Edited press release
Fox Hill Farm's Rockport Harbor arrived at Keeneland Sunday night to begin preparations for his next scheduled start in Saturday's $325,000 Coolmore Lexington (gr. II), the final prep for the May 7 Kentucky Derby (gr. I).

Undefeated as a 2-year-old, Rockport Harbor's only defeat came at the hands of Greater Good in the Rebel Stakes (gr. II), the colt's lone start of 2005.

A $470,000 Keeneland September Yearling Sale purchase, the son of Unbridled Song was bred in Kentucky by Heiligbrodt Racing Stable and Taylor Made Farm. Injured when a rival stepped on his right hind hoof in the Remsen (gr. II) at Aqueduct in November, Rockport Harbor was given plenty of time to heal by trainer John Servis.

Once his hoof had almost completely grown back, an infection developed, requiring Servis to give "Rocky" even more time off.

"It took a long time for the hoof to heal," said assistant trainer Bobby Velez. "But look at it now. It's great. I get on him every morning and I know nothing is bothering him. He should run great on Saturday."

Accompanying Rockport Harbor was Fantasy Stakes (gr. II) winner Round Pond, who also races in the colors of Fox Hill Farm. A $105,000 from the Keeneland September Yearling Sale, the daughter of Awesome Again was bred in Kentucky by John Toffan and Trudy McCaffery.

Round Pond is scheduled to make her next start in the Black-Eyed Susan at Pimlico with her primary goal being the Alabama (gr. I) at Saratoga.

"This filly didn't look like much when we got her," Velez said. "She really blossomed at Oaklawn though. I bet she's grown at least two inches this year and she's really filled out. She's really gotten good in a hurry."
