Entrepreneur, an English classic winner who stood the last three breeding seasons in Japan, has been sold to stand at historic Voskhod Stud in Russia, according to the Racing Post. James Wigan of London Thoroughbred Services represented the farm in the sale.An 11-year-old son of Sadler's Wells out of the Exclusive Native mare Exclusive Order, Entrepreneur is coming off a season in which he ranked sixth on the English/Irish sires of 2-year-olds list. One of his juvenile daughters from last year, Damson, was an Irish group I winner. Overall, Entrepreneur has sired 11 stakes winners, including 2003 Darley Irish Oaks (Ire-I) winner Vintage Tipple.Entrepreneur was England's champion 3-year-old miler of 1997 after winning the Pertemps Two Thousand Guineas (Eng-I). Following his retirement, with a record of three wins from six starts and earnings of $307,793, Enterpreneur entered stud at Coolmore Stud in Ireland and shuttled to Australia. He was sent to Japan for the 2002 breeding season.Voskhod, some three hours by plane from Moscow, was founded in the 1920s and once was home to the great Russian racehorse and stallion Anilin. Foaled in 1961, Anilin won the Preis Von Europa in 1965-67 and twice placed in the Washington, D.C., International on grass.
