Trainer Todd Pletcher confirmed that Champagne (gr. I) winner Proud Accolade would make his next start in the Oct. 30 Breeders' Cup Juvenile (gr. I) at Lone Star Park.Afleet Alex's trainer, Tim Ritchey, said a Breeders' Cup decision on the Champagne runner-up would be forthcoming.Proud Accolade, a colt by Yes It's True , is undefeated in three starts and the East's top juvenile prospect heading into the Breeders' Cup. Pletcher said he was impressed with how Proud Accolade relaxed outside of horses through the first six furlongs of the Champagne. "That's the thing that has impressed us all along," said Pletcher, who won his first Champagne. "A lot of horses come out of the two-year-old sales and are cranked up all the time. For him to go through that experience and come out of there and be push button speaks volumes about his physical talent and mental maturity."Yesterday we were going from two six and a half furlong races to a mile and a sixteenth and he proved he could handle that."Pletcher also confirmed that the Frizette's runner-up, Ready's Gal, would make her next start in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (gr. I). Ready's Gal, who won her first two starts impressively at Saratoga, finished three quarters of a length behind Balletto in the Frizette. "It was a strangely run race," Pletcher said. "I thought the outside post would be a blessing like it was for Proud Accolade. In her case, it kind of turned out to hurt us a little bit. It looked like we had Balletto where we wanted her and then when Sis City came off the rail it allowed Balletto to get in there and screwed up the stretch run a little bit. We were running all over the place. "I thought our filly ran really well. It was her first start going long."
