Trainer Todd Pletcher will send out grade II stakes winners Limehouse and Pollard's Vision in Saturday's $350,000 Ohio Derby (gr. II), going 1 1/8 miles at Thistledown. Limehouse is listed as the 5-2 morning line favorite while Pollard's Vision will go off at 3-1.
Dogwood Stables' Limehouse enters Ohio's richest day of racing off a respectable fourth-place effort in the Kentucky Derby (gr. I). He finished third in the Toyota Blue Grass Stakes (gr. I) after scoring a length win in the Tampa Bay Derby (gr. III).
Pletcher will give a leg up to jockey Jose Santos.
Like Limehouse, Pollard's Vision also ran for the roses but finished unplaced on the first Saturday in May. The Edgewood Farm-owned Pollard's Vision scored a length win in the Illinois Derby (gr. II) after running third in the Louisiana Derby (gr. II).
Eibar Coa gets the call aboard Pollard's Vision.
Giving a good challenge to Limehouse and Pollard's Vision will be Cobra Farm and Castletop Stable's Trieste's Honor. The Michael Matz-trainee broke his maiden in February and scored in his first outing against stakes company in the California Derby.
Trieste's Honor, who will break from gate will be eight and is listed at 4-1, will have the services of Russell Baze.
