Juddmonte Farms announced Nov. 8 that the stud fee for four-time grade/group 1 winner Arrogate has been set at $75,000 for 2018. His book will be restricted to 142 mares.
"Our goal is always to provide the best value to our breeders. We will select the highest quality of mares to offer Arrogate the best chance to be as great a sire as he was a racehorse," said Garrett O'Rourke, manager of Juddmonte's U.S. operation.
In 2016, as a 3-year-old, Arrogate set a track record of 1:59.36 for 1 1/4 miles in the Travers Stakes (G1) at Saratoga Race Course. He next won that year's Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) over eventual two-time Horse of the Year California Chrome , and his top-level streak continued with the $12 million Pegasus World Cup Invitational Stakes (G1) and $10 million Dubai World Cup Sponsored by Emirates Airline (G1) in 2017.
With a fourth-place run in the TVG San Diego Handicap (G2) and a close runner-up finish in the $1 million TVG Pacific Classic Stakes (G1), Arrogate concluded his racing career Nov. 4 with an off-the-board finish in a bid to repeat in the Breeders’ Cup Classic.
Arrogate is available for inspection during the Keeneland November sale.
