J Boys Echo, with regular exercise rider Tammy Fox aboard, was clocked in splits of :12, :24 2/5, :37, and :49 1/5 before galloping out to six furlongs in 1:16 over a surface rated fast.
"It was a really solid work," trainer Dale Romans said. "We'll come back next Saturday and go a little faster. Only one hurdle left until the first Saturday in May."
At Trackside Louisville, Churchill's satellite training facility, Jack Cincinnati Casino Spiral Stakes (G3) winner Fast and Accurate breezed five furlongs in 1:00 1/5. Part ownership in the colt was recently acquired by Olympic gold medal skier Bode Miller, while Kendall Hansen maintains majority ownership. The Hansen colt won his last three starts, which included two stakes races.
Sunday marked the return of Fantasy Stakes (G3) winner Ever So Clever to the Churchill work tab when she breezed five furlongs in 1:02 for Hall of Fame trainer Steve Asmussen in preparation for the May 5 Longines Kentucky Oaks (G1).
Clearview Stables' Medaglia d'Oro filly recorded splits of :25 4/5 and :37 3/5 before galloping out six furlongs in 1:15 2/5 and seven furlongs in 1:29 4/5.
While the Fantasy was her first graded stakes win, Ever So Clever also placed in the Golden Rod and the Pochahontas stakes (both G2) as a juvenile at Churchill.
