Bred in Kentucky by Charles Nuckols Jr. & Sons, Animo de Valeroso is the 10th foal out of grade 1-placed, grade 2 stakes winner Danzig's Beauty, who was bred by Nuckols. She is the dam of leading sire Distorted Humor (Forty Niner), stakes winner Dancing Gulch (Gulch), and four other winners.
Multiple graded stakes winner Sweetest Chant is Animo de Valeroso's second dam. She also produced stakes-placed winner Miss Importance and multiple stakes producer Chanting Sweetly.
Animo de Valeroso entered stud in 2005 at Fairberry Farm in Illinois, where he stood through 2013. He's stood most recently at Nuckols Farm in Central Kentucky.
