Aldous Snow Seeking Third Singspiel Win

He will attempt to defend his title against grade I winner Hardest Core.

Aldous Snow, back-to-back winner of the Singspiel Stakes (Can-IIIT) in 2014 and 2015, will look to add the 2016 edition to his résumé July 3.

The 7-year-old gelding by Theatrical is coming into the race off of an allowance win at Woodbine June 11. He is being sent postward by trainer Malcolm Pierce and is owned and was bred by Sam-Son Farm.

Aldous Snow will have to contend with Hardest Core, the only grade I winner in the field, who earned that distinction when he captured the Arlington Million (gr. IT) in 2014.

Hardest Core is returning to graded company in the Singspiel after running only once last year, when he finished sixth in the Man o' War Stakes (gr. IT). The Singspiel will be the 6-year-old Hard Spun  gelding's second start of 2016, following an eighth-place finish in an allowance optional claiming event June 3 at Belmont Park.

Danish Dynaformer, owned and bred by Charles Fipke and trained by Roger Attfield, is returning to grade III company after several off-the-board finishes in grade I races. The 4-year-old Dynaformer colt's last start resulted in a third-place finish in the Marine Stakes (Can-III) at Woodbine. He won several stakes races at Woodbine last year.

Ami's Holiday is one of two entrants in the Singspiel for trainer Josie Carroll. The 5-year-old by Harlan's Holiday has had stakes success at Woodbine, winning the Grey Stakes (Can-III), and is seeking his first victory of 2016. He last ran sixth in the Eclipse Stakes (Can-II), but has posted three bullet works at Woodbine recently. He is owned by Ivan Dalos and was bred by Tall Oaks Farm.

Carroll also sends out allowance winner Money Talker, who is graded stakes placed, for Laconian Racing Stable. He joins other allowance winners Mr Grumpy and Generous Kitten.

Mr Grumpy has two straight allowance wins at Woodbine and is making his first graded stakes attempt for owners Silver King Farm and Hong Huynh, and trainer and breeder Daryl Hasmatali.

Generous Kitten is a homebred for Ken and Sarah Ramsey, trained by Mike Maker, who won an allowance at Churchill Downs last out.
