Suburban Handicap (gr. II) winner Lemon Drop Kid and Stephen Foster Handicap (gr. II) winner Golden Missile were on the track at Saratoga Thursday morning preparing for Sunday's $750,000 Whitney Handicap (gr. I). Lemon Drop Kid, who won the Travers Stakes (gr. I) at Saratoga last year, completed a three-furlong drill in :35 4/5 seconds while breezing over a sloppy main track. "He went nice and easy," said trainer Flint Schulhofer. "We just wanted to get a nice blowout in him, he's feeling great and we're looking forward to Sunday."Golden Missile breezed four furlongs over the same sloppy track. "I just let him open gallop," said trainer Joe Orseno. "He went in :50 3/5 around dogs in the mud. I'm totally pleased with him."
