Gaviola is expected to face Flawly, Lucky Lune, Millie's Quest, Preseli, Windsong, and Zoftig in the $250,000 Garden City Breeders' Cup Handicap (gr. IT) on Sunday. Alluring, Good Game, Julies Love Letter, and Shopping For Love are considered possible for the 1 1/8-mile turf race. Cash Run also worked five furlongs but began from the starting gate. She covered the distance in :59.98, handily. Ogden Phipps' Acorn Stakes (gr. I) winner Finder's Fee went four furlongs on the main track in :49.54, breezing. In her most recent start, the Claude McGaughey trainee finished third in a Saratoga allowance race while making her turf racing debut.
Kentucky Derby (gr.I) winner Fusaichi Pegasus highlighted Wednesday's works at Belmont Park. The Neil Drysdale trainee went four furlongs in :48.52 while breezing. The 3-year-old son of Mr. Prospector is expected to have a limited fall campaign, concluding with a start in the Breeders' Cup Classic (gr. I) at Churchill Downs in November.Serena's Tune, the first foal out of champion Serena's Song, breezed four furlongs in :51.04 Wednesday at Belmont. In her racing debut, Serena's Tune drew off to a seven-length win in a Del Mar maiden special weight race. The 2-year-old Mr. Prospector filly is also trained by Drysdale.Also working at the New York oval Wednesday was Wondertross. The Kinsman Farm's 4-year-old son of Chief's Crown is unraced since finishing sixth of eight in the 1999 Toyota Blue Grass Stakes (gr. I). Prior to the Blue Grass, he finished second by a nose to Vicar in the Florida Derby (gr. I) after winning a Gulfstream Park allowance race. Wondertross breezed three furlongs in :38.64.
