Besides his three grade I wins, High Yield (Storm Cat--Scoop the Gold, by Forty Niner) finished second in both the Florida Derby (gr. I) and Hollywood Futurity (gr. I), and third in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile (gr. I) and Champagne Stakes (gr. I). In his last two starts, the D. Wayne Lukas trainee finished off-the-board in both the Kentucky Derby (gr. I) and Preakness Stakes (gr. I). High Yield's racing career was cut short in June when the Pennsylvania-bred fractured a sesamoid while in training at Churchill Downs. His stud fee has not yet been announced.
Three-time grade I winner High Yield has arrived at Ashford Stud and will be available for inspection by breeders during the Keeneland September yearling sale. The earner of $1,170,196, High Yield won four races from 14 career starts, including the Hopeful Stakes (gr. I), the Fountain of Youth Stakes (gr. I), and the Toyota Blue Grass Stakes (gr. I).
