Daitaku Yamato earned his second victory on the year and eighth career win from 32 starts. Bred in Japan by Miyabi Bokujo, the win is his first career black-type win. Teruo Eda guided the Sei Ishizaka trainee to victory from post position 15. The winner led from the start under pressure from Yuwa Falcon and Taiki Treasure and repulsed the challenges of Agnes World and Black Hawk to earn the win.
Kazuko Nakamura's Daitaku Yamato upset 11-10 favorite Agnes World Sunday at Nakayama Racecourse, winning the Sprinters' Stakes (JPN-I) by 1 1/4 lengths Sunday. The 6-year-old son of Daitaku Helios completed the six furlongs in 1:08 3/5. Black Hawk finished third, a nose behind Agnes World. Broad Appeal was fourth, and Best of the Best 15th in the 16-horse field. Agnes World (Danzig--Mysteries, by Seattle Slew) came into the race out of a first-place finish in the Darley July Cup (Eng-I) in July.
