Oak Tree at Santa Anita Opens with Sen. Ken Maddy 'Cap

The $100,000 Senator Ken Maddy Handicap (gr. IIIT) is the opening day feature race of the Oak Tree at Santa Anita meet. The "about 6 ½-furlong" race for fillies and mares 3-year-olds and up will be run Wednesday on the downhill turf course.

Mike Pegram's Hookedonthefeelin is the 118-pound highweight and will be ridden by David Flores. In her last race, the 4-year-old Maryland-bred daughter of Citidancer finished third in the Rancho Bernardo Handicap (gr. III) at Del Mar. The Bob Baffert trainee has one win from two career starts on turf.

Reciclada enters the race following two consecutive wins, the Eatontown Stakes (gr. IIIT) on good turf at Monmouth Park and a seven-furlong allowance race on the main track at Saratoga. The Richard Mandella trainee finished sixth in June's Desert Stormer Handicap, in which Hookedonthefeelin finished second. Alex Solis will guide the 5-year-old Chilean-bred from post position six.

Wired To Fly, the lone 3-year-old in the field, drew the rail. The California-bred is winless since taking the restricted Melair Stakes at Hollywood Park in April, and will be making her turf debut on Wednesday. The daughter of Flying Victor will be ridden by Brice Blanc.
