The Grim Reaper Wins on Halloween Eve

News release from Suffolk Downs
In the ultimate Halloween hunch play, the aptly named Grim Reaper scored a runaway 12 1/2-length victory in the third race at Suffolk Downs on Monday afternoon.

The 6x-year-old was making his Boston debut on the day before Halloween and treated his Suffolk Downs backers with a $10.80 win mutuel after romping in the $16,000 claiming contest.

Horseplayers in the spooky spirit were further rewarded if they singled the other obvious Halloween horse with the winner: The Grim Reaper-Devil With Class perfecta returned $87.60.

Superstitious Boston bettors are already looking forward to Tuesday's late daily double at Suffolk Downs, because Wizardry (eighth race) and Mombo Monster (ninth race) are both entered to race on Halloween.
