Storm Cat Nomination Tops at Keeneland

Agent Buzz Chace paid $500,000 for a no-guarantee 2001 breeding nomination to the leading sire Storm Cat as the top-priced offering among 10 seasons sold as part of the first session of Keeneland's November Breeding Stock sale.

Chace also purchased seasons to two-time leading sire Deputy Minister, for which he paid $180,000, acquired a Dubai Millennium nomination for $270,000, and paid $230,000 for an Unbridled season. Arthur Hancock III paid $225,000 for a season to Kentucky Derby winner Fusaichi Pegasus. Hancock, who sold Fusaichi Pegasus for $4-million as a yearling, bought the season in partnership with Stonerside Farm owner Robert McNair.

Ten seasons were sold for $2.5 million, a portion of which, including Keeneland's customary 5% commission, will be donated to the Grayson Jockey Club Research Foundation.
