Good Game Heads Mrs. Revere Field Race of the Week: The Mrs. Revere at Churchill Downs (download Ultimate Past Performance with Quick Play Comments -- PDF format)

Valley View Stakes (gr. IIIT) winner Good Game heads a 12-horse field entered in the $150,000 Mrs. Revere Stakes (gr. IIT) Saturday at Churchill Downs. Impending Bear, second in the Valley View, also returns in the Mrs. Revere, a 1 1/16-mile turf race for 3-year-old fillies.

Good Game has won four of nine career starts and earned $210,766. The Fly Till Dawn filly is currently trained by Neil Howard for owners W.S. Farish and E.J. Hudson. Prior to the Valley View win, Good Game finished sixth in the Garden City Breeders' Cup Handicap (gr. IT) and second in the Lake Placid Handicap (gr. IIT), both won by Gaviola. Good Game was obtained by Farish and Hudson this summer.

"She was a nice filly when we got her -- basically she was a 'baked cake' when I got her," said Howard. "It was just a matter of getting to know her a little bit."

Michael Stidham-trained Impending Bear is winless since taking the Appalachian Stakes at Keeneland in April. The Valley View was her first race back after a freshening that followed a dismal performance on the main track in the Monmouth Breeders' Cup Oaks (gr. II) in July. Corey Lanerie has the mount on Saturday.
