Gold Mover Continues Success in Cadillacing Stakes

Gold Mover, a triple stakes winner last year, won by 1 1/2 lengths Thursday in her in debut as a 3-year-old, the $53,200 Cadillacing Stakes for 3-year-old fillies at Gulfstream Park. Thunder Bertie finished second and Look of the Lynx was third in the field of fives.

Bred and owned by E.P. Evans, Gold Mover has never finished out of the money in seven starts, winning five times with a second and a third. Three of her four victories as a 2-year-old were in graded stakes - the Debutante, Schuylerville and Kentucky Breeders Cup.

Ridden by Jerry Bailey, the Kentucky-bred daughter of Gold Fever covered five furlongs in 1:10 and paid $3.40, $2.40 and $2.10. Thunder Bertie paid $2.80 and $2.10. Look of the Lynx also paid $2.10 to show.

Thunder Bertie took the lead on the rail shortly after the break but, at the half-mile pole, permitted Morning Sun and Perchance to Dream to move through to her inside. Look of the Lynx and Gold Mover were just off the pace.

Gold Mover took the lead between horses at the three-eighths pole and did not relinquish it. Thunder Bertie came back on the inside to make a run at the favorite but did not pose a serious threat. Look of the Lynx was two lengths farther back for third. Morning Sun was fourth.
