Elizabeth Sessa Dead

Elizabeth (Betty) Sessa, who owned and operated Circle S Farm near Fort Lauderdale, Fla., with her husband, Ralph, died Jan. 15 at home on the farm. She had celebrated her 68th birthday the week before.
Born in Columbia, S.C., Sessa bred six stakes winners, including Heckofaralph, who raced for the couple. A popular Florida sprinter, Heckofaralph set three course records at Calder Race Course, including one in world-record-equaling time. At Gulfstream Park, Heckofaralph established a course record and has career earnings of $695,074.

Betty Sessa campaigned six additional stakes winners, including homebreds Vaguely Double and Leave'm Inthedark. In addition to her husband, her survivors include a son, Ralph Sessa Jr., and daughters Kathy, Kim, and Patti.
