Crafty C.T. and Early Flyer Put In Works

Crafty C.T. and Early Flyer, possible entrants for the $750,000 Santa Anita Derby (gr. I) on April seventh, put in works over the main track at Santa Anita on Saturday.

San Rafael Stakes (gr. II) winner Crafty C.T. went a mile in 1:41 under exercise rider Roxanne Losey. The Howard Zucker-trained son of Crafty Prospector will be ridden by Eddie Delahoussaye in the 1 1/8-mile Santa Anita Derby.

San Vicente Stakes (gr. II) winner Early Flyer worked seven furlongs on the fast track for trainer Ron McAnally, getting the distance in 1:25 3/5, handily.

Also working at Santa Anita Saturday was Trailthefox, winner of last year's Arlington-Washington Futurity (gr. II) and 12th in the Florida Derby (gr. I) in his most recent start. The son of Foxtrail earned a bullet for Saturday's :57 4/5 five-furlong move, the quickest of 59 works at the distance.

Turf Paradise Derby winner Startac is scheduled to work at Santa Anita on Sunday under jockey Alex Solis.
