Anabaa Blue (Anabaa--Allez Les Trois, by Riverman) earned $43,647 for the win, his second in four starts. He finished third in both starts as a juvenile before winning his 3-year-old debut on yielding ground in March. He was bred in France by Haras d'Etreham and M3 Elevage.
Charles-Eric Mimouni's Anabaa Blue led from the start under jockey Christophe Soumillon and drew away to a six-length triumph in the Prix Noailles (FR-II) Sunday at Longchamp. The 1 3/8-mile prep for the French Derby was run over very heavy ground at Longchamp."I am relieved," said winning trainer Carlo Lerner. "I was very hopeful before the race, but horses have to prove their point at this level. He did so brilliantly and now we can dream about the French Derby, but we will not make a decision today on where he will run next." Gris de Fer came home second, two lengths ahead of Worthily. Blue Steller was fourth in the six-horse field.
