Long said that the addition of Sexton as executive vice president brings Arlington's senior management structure in line with the management structures at other CDI racetracks. "Adding Steve to our management line-up will allow track president, Scott Mordell, to work more closely with CDI's management team on strategic issues that will benefit the racetrack and Illinois racing," he said. Frank Gabriel, Arlington's vice president of racing operations, will continue to oversee the racetrack's live racing program, while Jim Stumpf, vice president of off-track operations, will continue to manage Arlington's five off-tracking betting (OTB) facilities.
Steve Sexton is the new executive vice president of Arlington Park. The announcement was made Monday by John Long, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Churchill Downs Incorporated ("CDI") (Nasdaq: CHDN). Sexton will report directly to Scott Mordell, Arlington's president and chief executive officer. Sexton most recently served as executive vice president and general manager of Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie, Texas. His new responsibilities will include many of Arlington's day-to-day functions, including the racetrack's finance, human resources, sales, marketing and community relations departments.
