Stevens Gets New Agent...Again

Hall of Fame jockey Gary Stevens has hired Tony Matos as his new agent, his fourth in eight months since he returned riding full time last October. Matos will continue to book mounts for Victor Espinoza.

Bob Meldahl, who was hired by Stevens just a month ago, is now back with Corey Nakatani. Nakatani, who rode in Kentucky during Keeneland meet in April, has decided to return to California instead of going to New York which was his plan two weeks ago. At the Keeneland meet, Nakatani finished third in the rider standings behind Pat Day and Jerry Bailey.

Meldahl will contine to book mounts for Laffit Pincay Jr.
