TRF Tabbed as NTRA Charities Affiliate

The National Thoroughbred Racing Association has named the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation (TRF) a horseracing affiliate of its nonprofit branch, NTRA Charities. The TRF provides aftercare and adoptive services for retired racehorses in several states, and is the largest and oldest organization of its kind in the U.S.

"The TRF was instrumental in the creation of NTRA Charities' Racehorse Adoption Referral Program and our public service announcements for equine adopting and retirement programs," said Bryan Pettigrew, NTRA vice president of sponsorships. "Their cooperation has enabled us to help more horses than ever before find a safe home after retirement from the track."

"Nothing is more important to the racing industry than its horses," said Diane Pikulski, executive director of the TRF. "Industry recognition and meaningful support of TRF and its mission will show the world that racing recognizes its stewardship for the animals that bring us the thrill and joy of Thoroughbred racing."

Horseracing affiliates of NTRA Charities provide programs and services to racing's horses and people and to civic communities that are home to Thoroughbred breeding and racing.
