King's Best Not Going to Dubai

English stallion King's Best will not be sent to Dubai to stand next year's breeding season, according to Joe Osborne, managing director of Kildangan Stud in Ireland, where the classic winner completed his first season as part of the brigade of Darley stallions.

"The next stallion at Emirates Stud will probably not even be a current Darley Stallion--we may decide to lease a stallion from outside the group, as we did with Timber Country," Osborne said.

Timber Country, a Northern American champion, stood in Dubai at Emirates Stud Farm in 2001 as part of a lease arrangement with the Yoshida family's Shadai Stallion Station. Timber Country is not returning in 2002, but will be replaced. No decision has yet been reached as to a replacement.
