Jockey Edgar Prado escaped injury Thursday after his mount, The Music Man, sustained a condylar fracture of his left front leg during the second race at Saratoga.Prado, third-leading rider at the Soa, and The Music Man were mounting a challenge in the stretch when the colt sustained the injury. The Music Man, a 2-year-old son of Kingmambo owned by Jeanne Vance and trained by Scotty Schulhofer, continued on after losing the rider and was eventually caught by an outrider and vanned back to his barn. The Music Man, making his second career start, was later euthanized. The Music Man was purchased by Vance for $900,000 at last year's Fasig-Tipton Saratoga summer yearling sale.
