No Cancer Found in Unbridled

Claiborne Farm stallion Unbridled was given a clean bill of health by the University of Kentucky Diagnostic Lab. The lab failed to find any cancer in the intestine that was removed from the 14-year-old stallion during surgery Sept. 21 at Hagyard-Davidson-McGee veterinary clinic near Lexington.

"I went up to see him, and he's doing fine," said farm manager Gus Koch. "Hopefully, he might be home in a few days."

Unbridled (Fappiano--Gana Facil, by Le Fabuleux) underwent a surgical procedure in which more than three feet of his colon was removed. He had shown "mild-like colic symptoms" over the summer.

Syndicated Unbridled has sired 23 stakes winners and ranks 16th on the 2001 general sires list. Unbridled, who began his stud career at Gainesway Farm near Lexington, was moved to Claiborne near Paris, Ky., for the 1997 breeding season.
