King Cugat's second dam, Con Game (by Buckpasser), produced a top stallion, Seeking the Gold. A grade I winner, he finished second in the 1988 Breeders' Cup Classic. Seeking the Gold (by Mr. Prospector) is the sire of two winners of the BC Juvenile Fillies (gr. I): Flanders (1994) and Cash Run (1988). Another of the stallion's daughters, Heavenly Prize, finished third in the 1993 edition of the Juvenile Fillies.Con Game also produced 1988 Remsen Stakes (gr. I) and Breeders' Futurity (gr. II) winner Fast Play and 1987 Jamaica Handicap (gr. III) winner Stacked Pack.

Kingmambo's sire, Mr. Prospector, has sired three Breeders' Cup winners: Eillo, in the 1984 Sprint (gr. I); Gulch, in the 1988 Sprint; and Rhythm, in the 1989 Juvenile (gr. I).A group I winner in England and France, Kingmambo has been represented by two of his offspring in the Breeders' Cup. King Cugat was 11th in last year's Mile, and champion Lemon Drop Kid was fifth in the 1998 Juvenile, sixth in the 1999 Classic (gr. I), and fifth in the 2000 Classic.King Cugat's dam, the 13-year-old Majestic Light mare Tricky Game, was unplaced in only two career starts.
