"We have retained both the race order and wagering menu from last year, which proved to be very popular with our fans, who have an excellent array of wagers to choose from throughout the day," said D.G. Van Clief Jr., president of Breeders' Cup Limited. "Fans also will appreciate that we were able to push back the Breeders' Cup post times slightly, thanks to the added half-hour of television coverage that NBC is providing this year."

The National Thoroughbred Racing Association, Breeders' Cup Limited, and the New York Racing Association, which jointly conduct this year's Breeders' Cup World Thoroughbred Championships, have dedicated the event to the memory and families of the New York firefighters, police officers, emergency services personnel and other victims in the surrounding communities who perished in the Sept. 11 attack on the United States. NTRA and NYRA also will contribute a portion of each paid admission and a percentage of other revenue from the World Thoroughbred Championships, as well as all proceeds from the Oct. 26 Breeders' Cup Charity Gala, to the NTRA Charities--New York Heroes Fund, established to aid the victims' families.
