Yonaguska Wins Sport Page on Breeders' Cup Undercard

Yonaguska completed a chalky Daily Double on the Breeders' Cup undercard Saturday at Belmont Park. He won the second race, the Sport Page (gr. III), under Chris McCarron. He was 7-5 and first race winner Graeme Hall was 4-5.

In both races, the speed faded.

Yonaguska moved from off the pace after the early fractions of :23.02 and :46.16 were set by Snow Ridge, Late Carson and Mr. Epperson. He ran the 6 ½ furlongs in 1:15.54. Yonaguska paid $5.10, $3.40 and $2.50 while Silky Sweep closed for second and returned $5.70 and $3.70. Big E E ran third and paid $4. The Daily Double paid $9.50.

The Sport Page was the first win for Yonaguska since he won the Hutcheson Stakes (gr. II) at Gulfstream Park in late January.

By Cherokee Run -- Marital Spook, by Silver Ghost, Yonaguska is owned by Michael Tabor and trained by D. Wayne Lukas.
