Galileo ran unplaced in the Breeders' Cup Classic (gr. I) in his final start and retires with six wins from eight starts and earnings of $2,245,373. A son of Coolmore sensation Sadler's Wells, he was produced from Prix de l'Arc de Triomple (Fr-I) winner Urban Sea (by Miswaki).
Dual classic winner Galileo will begin his stallion career next year for IRE£50,000 (about US$56,878) at Coolmore Stud in Ireland. Campaigned by Michael Tabor and Sue Magnier, Galileo scored group I wins in this year's Epsom and Irish Derbys and the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes.
