Geri won the grade I Oaklawn Handicap in 1996, and one year later captured the Citation Handicap (gr. II) at Hollywood Park. His other stakes wins came in the Crème Fraiche Handicap at Gulfstream Park and the Woodbine Mile. The son of Theatrical out of the Mr. Prospector mare Garimpeiro also finished second in the 1996 Hollywood Gold Cup and the 1997 Breeders' Cup Mile, both grade I.
John Sikura's Hill 'n' Dale Farm outside Lexington announced that millionaire Geri will stand the 2002 breeding season for a fee of $5,000 live foal. Geri is one of three stallions, along with Theatrical and Jade Hunter, owned by the Allen E. Paulson Living Trust who were moved to Hill 'n' Dale since September.Geri, a multiple-graded stakes winner who earned $1,707,980 in a 19-race career, arrived in Kentucky in early November from Japan, where he stood the 2001 breeding season. Geri, a freshman, sire of 2001, got his first stakes winner when Bedanken captured the Sequoyah Stakes at Remington Park Nov. 11.
